Location: Cambridgeshire
Duration: 6 Months
Rate: Negotiable


Are you passionate about making a difference in people's lives through home adaptations and improvements? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join our client as an adaptations surveyor


Job Purpose: As an Adaptations Surveyor, you will play a vital role in assessing, designing, and managing home adaptation projects. Working closely with a small team, you'll provide technical advice, ensure compliance with building regulations, and oversee works completed by external contractors. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing the living conditions of vulnerable individuals across Cambridge City, South Cambs, and Huntingdonshire.


Main Roles & Responsibilities:
·Design and deliver home repairs, improvements, and adaptations within designated service areas.
·Provide responsive customer service, offering technical advice to vulnerable individuals, team members, and key partners.
·Ensure high-quality adaptations in clients' homes by overseeing works completed by external contractors.
·Visit homes to assess, design, and plan repairs and alterations, including producing AutoCAD drawings and liaising with contractors.
·Provide information and advice on property defects, technical solutions, and compliance with building regulations.
·Manage contracts, monitor spending, and ensure standards of workmanship are upheld.
·Support clients in understanding and engaging with building works, addressing concerns, and ensuring customer outcomes are achieved.
·Stay updated on building regulations, HSE legislative changes, and industry developments.


Requirements:
·Experience in designing home improvements and managing building works.
·Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent technical design software.
·Strong communication and negotiation skills.
·Knowledge of building regulations, health and safety requirements, and related legislation.
·Ability to multi task, prioritise, and manage deadlines effectively.
·Clear record-keeping skills and familiarity with electronic file management systems.
·Willingness to travel between sites, including rural areas.


Additional Information: Employment is subject to an acceptable DBS certificate due to the nature of the role involving work with vulnerable individuals.
