My client are recruiting for a Press Toolmaker to join their proactive team. Purpose of the Job Manufacturing of jigs, tools (press tooling) in accordance with drawings and 3D models, and, contribute and work in supporting the main factory on trials, troubleshooting and improvements.
Responsibilities You will be willing to apply lean tools and activities throughout the job function and continually strive to bring new methodologies and technology into the business.
Competent in the use of:
Surface Grinder, Hole start EDM Machine, Manual Milling machine and Centre Lathe, Wire EDM Machines
- Competent fitting skills.
- Knowledge of CADCAM software, preferable OneCNC and/or Fikus.
- Manufacture and assembly of punch tools for various types of press tool equipment.
- Assist on the first trials of newly manufactured tooling.
- Carry out tool repairs to progressive tooling, 2nd operation tooling and cutting fixtures.
- Modify existing tools to improve production processes.
- Assist in the company continuous improvement plan.
- Involved in the repair and preventative maintenance of existing tooling.
- Other Duties/Requests.
- To carry out any other duty that is reasonably requested by a Supervisor/Manager/ Director.
- Ensure the work area is kept clean and tidy and safe working practices and adopted.
- To be undertaken in a professional, polite and efficient manner.
Essential Experience:
- Engineering apprenticeship, or equivalent training.
- Experience in milling, turning, grinding and fitting.
- Able to work from Drawings, 3D models.
- Desirable Experience:
- EDM knowledge and skills.
- Previous experience working in a similar role.
- CAM experience, preferably in OneCNC or Fikus.
- 2D or 3D drafting (basic).
- Ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Self-motivated individual.
- Possess excellent attention to detail.
Hours of Work
08:00 – 17:00 (Monday to Thursday), 08:00 – 13:00 (Friday)
39 hours per week (30 minute lunch)
