Water Network Technicians work outside across our region to find leaks on our huge network of underground pipes and get these repaired. You will be supported every step of the way, by your line manager and mentor. Working in our water network team, you’ll will be ensuring we identify and reduce water leakage across our network. In your daily work, you’ll interact with distribution service technicians and our repair and maintenance technicians. You will also work with our call centres, network optimisation and contractors. You’ll regularly engage with customers and members of the public which will help you to build your stakeholder relationship management skills.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN

The training you will be getting

Within our water network team you will complete the Level 3 Water Industry Network Technician Apprenticeship standard, allowing you to develop the skills & experience required to become an expert. You’ll combine on-the-job learning with formal, nationally recognised development training. A Personal Development Plan will help drive your career progression, set, agreed & regularly reviewed with your line manager.

Functional Skills in English and maths if required.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Following successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will take up an Assistant Water Network Technician role, where you will be able to put your skills into action.
