We are looking for a dynamic Senior Design Project Manager with a civil engineering background and proven experience in leading the design aspects of transport projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the design phase of transportation projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.
Your new role, what's involved?
- Lead and manage the design phase of transport infrastructure projects, including roads, highways, bridges, railways, and public transit systems.
- Develop project scopes, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, including architects, engineers, and planners, to ensure integrated design solutions that meet project requirements.
- Oversee the preparation of design plans, drawings, specifications, and other technical documents, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Review and evaluate design proposals, providing technical guidance, feedback, and recommendations to ensure optimal project outcomes.
- Liaise with clients, government authorities, and other stakeholders to address design-related issues, obtain approvals, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules, and take proactive measures to address any deviations or challenges that may arise during the design phase.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration among project team members, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Conduct regular design reviews, meetings, and presentations to update stakeholders on project status, milestones, and key deliverables.
- Mentor and coach junior staff members, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with a focus on design aspects of transport projects.
- Strong background in transport engineering and design principles, including geometric design, pavement design, traffic engineering, and drainage design.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, and/or Bentley software suite.
- Arabic native speaker with fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and manage multidisciplinary design teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices in transport design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality design solutions.
- Professional certification (e.g., PMP, PE) is a plus.
