Job description
Our client is a leading M&E Contractor based in Northern Ireland. Due to an increase in workload and new projects, they are currently looking to expand their operation department and recruit an experienced FM Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis.
Key responsibilities:
- Negotiation of prices and obtaining quotes for works, materials and plant as required in compliance with company procedure.
- Quality check invoice details from all suppliers, ensuring customer gets value for money on all jobs carried out.
- Negotiate and challenge contractors on cost queries when required to deliver excellent service.
- Prepare and agree priced schedules of work utilising existing schedules of rates including but not limited to PSA, NSR or similar.
- Ensure information and documentation relating to contractual, commercial and financial issues are communicated as required by commercial procedures or contractual requirements.
Requirements:
- BSc or working towards degree in Quantity Surveyor
- Full driving licence with the ability and flexibility to travel as business needs dictate
- Good IT skills
- An ability to produce tenders from both outline and detailed specifications &/or drawings
- Good planning & personal skills, well organised & able to communicate well working both independently with little supervision, as a team and with third parties
- Applicants with experience of PSA Schedule of Rates will be at an advantage
