Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant Salary:

£85 - £100 Per day

Job Duties:

• Supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a classroom setting
• Assisting the teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students
• Providing one-on-one support to students who require additional help
• Helping to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
• Assisting with behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
• Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to meet the needs of SEMH students

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
• Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
• Understanding of SEMH and how it can impact learning
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

GCSEs in English and Maths

Experience:

Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting

Knowledge and Skills:

• Understanding of SEMH and its impact on learning
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Knowledge of behaviour management strategies

Preferred Qualifications:

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• First Aid training
• Training in de-escalation techniques

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a classroom setting with students who have SEMH needs. The working hours are full-time, and the environment can be challenging at times. The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations is essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
