The Employer is: MILLENNIUM FORUM.
Join the Millennium Forum’s technical department as a key member of their backstage crew. You will have the opportunity to work on some of this years most spectacular shows, while receiving bespoke on-the-job training as fly crew, stage crew, stage management, sound and lighting.
You’ll be involved in all aspects of our technical teams work - including assisting our senior theatre technicians and visiting companies during shows and events, helping with fit-ups, get-ins, get-outs, crewing performances and contributing to the smooth day-to-day operations and maintenance of the technical department.
This is a hands-on jobs that can at times be labour intensive. .
Responsibilities
- To crew performances as directed by the technical manager - including as fly and stage crew.
- To prepare backstage areas for events and performances, both independently and under the direction and guidance of the technical manager.
- To ensure a high level of customer service is delivered to all visiting companies, cast, crew, and local community groups.
- To assist with get-ins and get-outs, ensuring a high standard of stage safety, manual handling and efficient working routines are consistently met.
- To ensure the safe and efficient loading, unloading, construction, rigging, and de-rigging of scenery, wardrobe, and production equipment as required.
- To ensure production equipment is set up, checked and working as per production schedule and that all equipment conforms to industry certification standards.
- To be responsible for personal safety and ensure that safe working practises are adopted at all times.
- To assist other departments as per operational requirements, as directed by Technical Manager.
- To be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of all backstage areas, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness is maintained.
- To be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all theatre equipment, along with the Technical Manager and senior technicians.

Desirable Skills
- Previous experience as stage or fly crew.
- Previous technical experience is not essential as full training will be provided, but an interest in working behind the scenes on live performances and events is.
