Job description

We are seeking a Third in Charge to support the management team in an ‘outstanding’ rated setting in North West London, close to Harrow.

This well-established nursery offers care for children aged from 3 months until 5 years of age. The beautiful secure building offers a range of facilities including an all-weather garden to the rear of the nursery. The nursery is easy to reach, located close to the tube and well served by local bus routes.

As the Third in Charge, your responsibilities will include understanding and meeting the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS, as well as ensuring compliance with various regulatory bodies and nursery standards and policy. You will support the management team in smooth day to day running of the nursery and help and encourage the team to develop their skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities:

• Build positive relations with colleagues, parents and suppliers
• As a key member of the team, promote a culture of learning and development throughout the nursery
• Your effective communication skills will promote positive partnerships with parents and carers
• You will conduct regular inspections, and ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the nursery
• Maintaining accurate records, supporting the commercial performance of the nursery, participating in marketing activities, and attend team meetings are required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Have a relevant and recognised childcare qualification level 3 or ideally higher
• Recent Paediatric First Aid certificate
• Experience of management in a nursery setting
• Experience of implementing the EYFS
• DBS cleared
