Sandbrook Community Primary School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our vibrant team in a new and unique role as a School Social Worker. As a key part of our Safeguarding Team and taking on responsibility as one of our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads, you will play a crucial role in protecting children from harm and promoting their well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Safeguarding: Identify children at risk, manage concerns, liaise with external agencies, and attend Child Protection meetings as a representative of school.
Direct work with children: Provide individual and group support, addressing issues like anxiety, trauma, and social-emotional difficulties.
Family support: Build positive relationships with parents/carers, advocate for their needs, and signpost to relevant services.
Caseload management: Develop and implement comprehensive support plans for children in need, acting as Lead Professional for Early Help support when appropriate.
Training and development: Deliver training to staff on safeguarding and child protection, share your expertise, and contribute to our culture of continuous learning.
Collaboration: Work effectively with school staff, external partners, and the wider community.
Record management: Maintain accurate records, ensuring compliance with safeguarding and data protection policies.
We are looking for:
A qualified social worker, with experience of working closely with schools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to build trust and rapport with children, families, and professionals.
Strong assessment and intervention skills, tailoring support to meet individual needs.
A commitment to safeguarding children and upholding ethical standards in line with SW England professional standards.
The ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritising effectively in a busy school environment.
