IT OPERATIONS MANAGER
Reporting to the Head of IT for Boots Ireland, the IT Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the IT department.
This role involves ensuring the smooth functioning of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure across both retail and pharmacy as well as coordinating with various teams to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
The IT Operations Manager will play a critical role in implementing IT best practices, maintaining high levels of security, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across Boots Ireland.
This role requires flexibility to travel to Boots Ireland stores Nationwide and will require occasional travel to Boots UK Headquarters based in Nottingham.
ABOUT THE ROLE - Project management: Oversee IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Collaborate with other departments to align IT projects with organizational goals.
- Team leadership: Integrate and work with all teams, providing guidance, mentoring, and support when required. Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team culture, encouraging continuous learning and development.
- Operations management: Ensured defined processes are followed for IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure the smooth operation of IT services. Monitor IT service delivery, incident resolution, and problem management. Engage with stores to ensure delivery of projects to completion stage.
- Supporting colleagues in stores and support office: Deal with day-to-day queries and escalations from 95 stores and support office, including hardware and software issues.
- Security and compliance: Ensure security policies and procedures to safeguard the organization's IT assets are followed.
- Vendor management: Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
- Continuous improvement: Identify areas for improvement in IT processes and systems and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends to make recommendations for organizational improvements.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE - Proven experience in operations management, with a track record of successfully leading and managing teams.
- Proven track record in delivering projects.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, security, and project management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience in budget management and cost control.
- Knowledge of IT best practices, industry standards, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to analyse complex issues, develop strategic solutions, and drive implementation.
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience in a comparable role. Additional relevant certifications are a plus.
