Job description
Our client is actively seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and dependable individual to become an integral part of their expanding organisation. This individual will play a pivotal role in the investment banking division, focusing on clients in the UK, Europe, and the Middle East.
The client is an independent investment banking entity based in London, specialising in M&A, corporate finance, merchant banking, and strategic consulting, all customised to meet the specific goals of their clients. Their clientele includes financial institutions, corporate entities, institutional clients, governments, and private family offices in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Supporting the origination activities of the firm’s Founder and CEO and Advisory Board members
- Core member of the team supporting M&A, deal execution, and marketing/origination
- Analysing and researching financial information relating to the firm’s core clients (e.g., large-cap financial institutions and corporations), including evaluating company results, financial statements, and regulatory filings
- Tracking market developments in relation to clients, including investor and analyst sentiment, regulatory, and other material financial and operational developments
- Monitoring the financial news using specialist media and data analytics packages
- Creating presentations and analyses for client delivery
- Building financial models and projections and prepare valuation reports
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- At least six months of previous relevant experience in the M&A division of a leading bulge-bracket or boutique investment bank.
- Experience in Financial Institutions Group (FIG) is an advantage.
- Capable of thriving in a start-up and fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, with the ability to prioritise, multitask, and adhere to deadlines.
- Committed team player with a strong work ethic and unblemished integrity.
- Proficient in financial modeling and analysis, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with market-data analytics tools like Refinitiv, Datastream, Factset, etc., is beneficial.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
- A university degree in a quantitative field, such as economics or finance, is preferable.
