Job description
Processing of materials requirements from a SAP generated report to fulfil manufacturing requirements by effectively obtaining accurate prices and lead times of materials. Responsible for the creation and management of the fabrication plan in order to achieve manufacturing deadlines.
Reporting to Manager: Planning & Procurement
Duties:
- Working within the materials and purchasing department ensuring on time delivery and availability of materials within budgetary limitations.
- Expediting Purchase Orders.
- Supplier management of activity and negotiations.
- Maintaining physical stock levels to ensure materials are in accordance with manufacturing schedule and minimum stock levels.
- Management and implementation of call-off orders and pricing agreements.
- Communication with intercompany departments on a daily basis.
- Management of the fabrication plan detailing key project information to include but not limited to project deadlines, material status and manufacturing progress providing full visibility to internal stakeholders.
- Liaise with engineering on upcoming projects to ensure job packs are prepared and available in line with manufacture start dates.
- Attend daily meetings to review project progress, offering solutions if required to maintain company deadlines.
- Submit material pick requests directly to the Stores Supervisor and expedite if required to maintain deadlines.
- Collate and document key manufacturing data on repeat items in order to support resource allocation on future projects.
Skills & Experience:
- SAP Operating system knowledge.
- Production focused with a positive and energetic disposition.
- Commercial awareness to achieve purchasing objectives.
- Disciplined and accurate approach to materials movement.
- Proven ability to meet scheduled deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Degree qualified (preferred) with demonstrated experience.
