Production Engineer – Job Summary:
We’re supporting our client, a leading manufacturer based in Barmston, Essex, who are looking for a Production Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Production Engineer will have experience of NPI, SOP’s, BOM’s whilst assisting the Project Manager.
Salary: £35,000

Responsibilities:
- Will assist in the Project management of New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Will assist in the provision of tooling and price part quotations for New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Will assist with the creation Bills of Material (BOM’s) and Standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for New Product Introductions (NPI).
- Will assist in the Project management of current tooling, jigs, fixtures remedial/product development and/or continuous improvements through Engineering Change Requests (ECR’s).
- Will liaise with internal and external toolmakers / tooling sub contractors, and material suppliers.
- Will review all process work instructions and documentation on a regular basis for accuracy, currency, efficiency, best practise, and will update as required.
- Will escalate any identified engineering challenges and report to the Technical Manager.
- Will identify any potential areas of product, process improvement making recommendations and assisting with development of appropriate solutions.
- Will carry out general administration to the Engineering and Quality departments.
- Will perform other related duties and improvement projects as assigned by Technical Manager.
- Will assist in dimensional and/or visual inspection of parts from component to fully assembled product in line with work instructions, documentation, engineering drawings, and critical to quality plans.
- Will maintain a competent understanding of all the Company’s processes and comply with all Company procedures and policies.

- Experience of working in a engineering/manufacturing environment
- Experience of using measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers, gauges, etc
- Good team player / collaborative
- Is self motivated with a positive can-do attitude and can work alone as required
- Excellent attention to detail
- Is proficient in the interpretation of engineering drawings
- Is process driven
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Organisation of own workload and priorities on a day-to-day basis using own initiative

- Analytical and naturally inquisitive
- High level oral and written communication, presentation skills

- Reliable with an excellent record of attendance, punctuality, and flexibility when required
Desirable:
- Degree or other higher education equivalent
- Project management qualification
- Experience in project management
- Experience of working in an injection moulding environment
- Experience of design for manufacture of injection moulding parts and tooling using Solidworks
- Knowledge of engineering type injection moulding materials
- Experience of 5S
- Experience of ICT including ERP systems, Microsoft Office 365, Solidworks, and other relevant software
- Knowledge of Quality Management System ISO 9001:2015
