Pentagon Talent are proud to be partnering with a leading independent accountancy practice who are seeking a strong bookkeeping professional.
Overview:
The ideal candidate will work in the bookkeeping department of a renowned accountancy firm located in Central London. The firm caters to a range of clients of varying sizes and sectors. This role requires managing the day-to-day operations of the bookkeeping activities. Conducting thorough analysis of financial information, and developing robust partnerships with external entities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversight of daily bookkeeping activities, ensuring precision, effectiveness, and conformity to established policies and procedures;
- Setting goals, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress towards meeting objectives;
- Performance of sophisticated analyses involving multifaceted journals, non-routine allocations, and intercompany dealings;
- Participation in cross-divisional projects alongside audit, tax, and consultancy experts to guarantee cohesiveness and increased value proposition to clients;
- Establishment of constructive relations with external bodies, acting as a reliable source of counsel and advocacy for the organisation;
- Contribution to marketing efforts by disseminating industry knowledge, joining networking occasions, and communicating with potential customers to strengthen the firm's standing as a distinguished supplier of accounting services.
Qualifications & Skills:
- AAT, or comparable competency obtained through practical experience;
- Mastery of fundamental concepts associated with double-entry methodology, accruals-based accounting techniques, and generally accepted accounting rules;
- Proven capability in mainstream bookkeeping applications, such as Sage, Xero, or Quickbooks Online, complemented by refined Microsoft Office talents;
- Capacity to excel amidst shifting situations characterised by uncertainty, complexity, and varying needs;
- Display of authentic enthusiasm, reliability, ethics, confidentiality, and diplomacy when tackling delicate fiscal matters and liaising with various interest groups.
