Head of Systems

60,000 – 70,000 Per Annum (dependent on experience) + Benefits
My client is a successful B2C organisation who are investing heavily into their Digital Transformation. We are looking for a highly motivated Head of Systems who has experience working in retail, distribution or e–commerce to help develop and lead the implementation of the IT Systems strategy.
This is a hands–on role for someone with a proven background as an IT Systems Manager/Engineer and experience line managing a team.
We are looking who can: - Lead the design and implementation of robust and scalable IT systems to support the organisation's goals.
- Recommend, design, build and deliver new IT systems and EPOS environments
- Mentor and guide team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development, and develop a high–performance work environment.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify systems requirements and priorities.
- Evaluate existing systems and technologies to identify integration opportunities and challenges.
- Plan and execute the integration of cloud systems with existing on–premises systems and other cloud services.
- Develop and maintain APIs for efficient data exchange between systems.
- Ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of IT systems.
- Provide technical support to end–users of critical IT Systems.
- Collaborate with other department Heads to understand and address technology needs.
- Maintain accurate and up–to–date documentation for systems, processes and configurations.
Skills/Experience:
- Proven experience working in retail, distribution or e–commerce industries.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of database systems and database management (e.g., SQL Server, SSIS).
- Proven experience with automation and integration
- Understanding of cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure) and experience with cloud–based services.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritise workload, in a time–critical, fast–paced environment.
- Experience of Change Management and digital transformation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and VBA
- A Project management certification (e.g., AgilePM, PMP, PRINCE2) would be advantageous.
