We require a confident individual with excellent interpersonal skills to work within the pastoral team to oversee the support, guidance and behaviour of students from Years 7 to 11, within a house system. Liaising with staff, students, parents and external agencies and delivery of assemblies will be part of the role.

The Weald is a high achieving, popular and oversubscribed 11-18 comprehensive school and sixth form college, situated in the heart of the West Sussex countryside, 10 minutes from Horsham, 35 minutes from Guildford and Brighton, and an hour by train to London. The school has an excellent record of academic and pastoral achievement and we pride ourselves in creating a caring and respectful ethos where every child is important. In the summer of 2023, our A-level results placed us top in West Sussex maintained schools for A*-B grades and in the top 5% of schools and colleges nationally; at GCSE we have a long record of students achieving over a third of a grade higher than their targets.

If you relish the opportunity of working with students and staff in a supportive and stimulating professional environment, The Weald School would welcome your application. We also welcome visits to the school from interested candidates.

The closing date for applications is 10am on Thursday 14th March 2024. Interviews are planned for the following week.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to pre-employment checks including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
We are committed to diversity and inclusion, offering a supportive and welcoming environment for all.
