Reporting to the IT Network & Security Technical Team Lead, this is a senior post within the IT Services structure and is critical in the delivery of effective and efficient IT Services. As an Advanced Technical Security Specialist your challenge is to be a subject matter expert on IT Security controls, security technologies, security processes and policies used by West Lothian Council and to provide technical leadership in these areas.
The post will work closely with other Advanced Specialist posts within the IT Service, covering specialist areas including Unix, Wintel, Network, Client and Server Management and Application Interface Development providing an excellent IT service provision to all of our customers.
This permanent role provides an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of projects across the geography of West Lothian.
IT Services structure is based on ITlLv4 and you must have a solid understanding, knowledge and experience of good practice.
Applicants will have proven experience implementing and supporting one or more of the following: designing, implementing and supporting the implementation of IT security controls, creating and maintaining security standards and policies in a multi-site, multi-security profile organisation.
Training and development will be provided to ensure that the post-holder attains and maintains the technology-specific skills required of the role.
