Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a bank of Personal Assistants to provide support to a girl aged 12 with Down’s Syndrome, who likes going swimming, playing at the park, visiting the cinema and playing x-box. This will take place both in her own home and within the local community.

As a Personal Assistant, you will be working in teams of two and your duties will include; taking her out into the community to access activities, supporting with all aspects of daily life (including personal care and domestic support) and supervising her general welfare.
We are looking for a caring, proactive and motivated individual with a passion for supporting others.
Previous experience is desirable although not essential, but a positive attitude and good work ethic is essential. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A driver with a full clean licence would be preferred but not essential.
This is a part-time position for 5 hours per week term time and 10 hours per week non-term time with an hourly rate of £11.00 (£11.44 from April) plus 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro rata).
