Maintenance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee our maintenance operation.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for the reliable running of equipment and machinery for operational function. You will manage routine maintenance and organise repairs.

Maintenance is vital to the smooth and efficient running of our equipment and the efficiency of the teams. Your role will be important in ensuring that our efficiency and productivity remains uncompromised.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance management, excellent leadership skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Working with the the management team, you will improve production facilities, reduce the possibility of costly breakdowns, and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of site maintenance and production processes.

Core Responsibilities
● Implement maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods to help with installation and commissioning guidelines.
● Manage the Maintenance Technician, providing guidance, training, and support as required.
● Conduct regular quality checks and inspections of machinery, equipment, and facilities to identify maintenance needs and address issues promptly.
● Oversee and conduct routine preventative maintenance work, respond to equipment faults, diagnose breakdown, and arrange specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings, or components.
● Respond to emergencies, unplanned issues, and repairs.
● Ensure health and safety policies and procedures are being adhered to correctly at all times and raising where this is not happening.
● Coordinate with production and operations teams to schedule maintenance activities and minimise disruptions to production schedules.
● Collaborate with vendors, contractors on site to procure services and supplies, negotiate contracts, and ensure quality standards are met.
● Keep up to date with new developments in maintenance technology and best practices and recommend innovative solutions to improve operations efficiency and effectiveness.
● Effective management and prioritisation of your workload.
● Keeping a record of preventive and emergency maintenance conducted.
● Carry out minor repairs to building fittings and structure.

Skills and Qualifications
● 3+ years of proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
● Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field (preferred).
● Knowledge of maintenance best practices, including preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and reliability-centred maintenance.
● The capacity to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures.
● Strong understanding of safety regulations and protocols.
● Team Working skills to work cooperatively and consult with people at all levels.
● The ability to take the initiative as and when required.
● Good diagnostic and critical thinking skills.
● The confidence to respond positively when under pressure.
