What will you be doing?
Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and organised Volunteer Manager to join our team and work directly with both the General Manager and CEO. This pivotal role extends beyond mere coordination, significantly amplifying our impact by efficiently mobilising and motivating a diverse volunteer force. The Volunteer Manager is instrumental in retaining volunteers by fostering a supportive environment, enhancing project delivery, and broadening community reach. Through innovation and robust program development, the Volunteer Manager ensures our sustainability and attractiveness to funders and partners, proving essential in the realisation of our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Volunteer Coordination and Support: Act as the primary point of contact for all volunteers, providing ongoing support, resolving queries, and ensuring a positive and productive volunteering experience.
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Lead the recruitment of new volunteers, including outreach, interviews, and induction sessions, to build and maintain a robust volunteer team.
- Training and Development: Organise and facilitate training sessions to equip volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge for their roles.
- Resource Management: Efficiently manage and allocate resources to support volunteer activities and projects.
- Scheduling and Time Management: Create and maintain volunteer schedules, ensuring optimal coverage and volunteer engagement within the 3-hour weekly commitment.
- Office Visits: Visit the Their Future Today office in Sunbury On Thames for coordination and planning purposes once every fortnight or once a month, as required.
- Feedback and Improvement: Collect and analyse volunteer feedback to continually improve the volunteering programme and enhance volunteer satisfaction.

Ideal Candidate:
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a diverse team of volunteers.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities, capable of juggling multiple tasks and priorities.
- Experience in volunteer/staff management or coordination, preferably within a non-profit or charitable organisation.
- A compassionate individual aligned with the values and mission of Their Future Today.
- Deep commitment to social change, with a passion for improving child welfare systems.
- Ability to navigate cross-cultural environments and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Availability to commit to 3 hours per week and to visit the office in Sunbury On Thames as needed.
- Experience with organisational tools such as Microsoft or Google is preferred
