iO Associates are seeking for a Structural Engineer to work with one of the top businesses that generates low-carbon electricity and is an energy utility. The business serves commercial, residential, and industrial customers by producing and supplying electricity and natural gas.
They are looking for a Structural Engineer who will be developing the Structural Integrity safety case for critical components of Nuclear New Build projects in the UK.
Required:
- Possesses some understanding of pressure vessels, pipes, and the risks and possible failure modes that are connected with them. A degree or professional certification in a field related to structural integrity or is able to show equivalent experience.
- Holds a great deal of industry experience in high-hazard environments, such as nuclear and experience in writing, reviewing, and serving as a case officer for safety cases and changes pertaining to structural integrity.
- Some understanding of pressure vessels, pipes, and the risks and possible failure modes that are connected with them.
Responsibilities:
- Creating the safety case for structural integrity for important nuclear new build components in the United Kingdom.
- Assisting with the design, manufacturing, and commissioning of New Build projects by offering technical leadership and advice on Structural Integrity and combining the various components of the Structural Integrity Safety Case to make a strong case for the plant's operation.
- Giving expert guidance on the structural integrity of pressure equipment in accordance with claims made in safety cases.
