Job description

Driver Hire Bournemouth and Salisbury are incredibly excited to now be offering a flexible temporary opportunity for an experienced and professional HGV Class 2 driver with our client in Gillingham, Dorset.

For this role you will be required to complete deliveries in an HGV curtain-sider. Unloading will be completed with a pallet truck or unloaded by the customer at the delivery site. The typical amount of drops per round for this role is 6-7.

Position: HGV Class 2 Driver

Days: Monday-Friday

Start time: 07:00 AM

Start date: ASAP

Location: Gillingham, Dorset

Pay Rate: £14-15 (basic) – £16-17.25 (nights) – £16-18 (weekends). Quoted rate is for PAYE accrued holiday pay.

As a HGV Driver you MUST have:

• a valid UK Class 2 HGV driving licence
• a valid CPC and digital tachograph card
• a minimum of 6 months of recent commercial experience
• no more than 6 penalty points (no DR, DD or IN codes)
• your own transport to get to and from work

As a HGV Driver you will be responsible for:

• delivering pallets manually (day shift) or having pallets loaded/unloaded for you (night shift)
• completing deliveries in an HGV vehicle
• planning routes and loading a vehicle
• providing excellent customer service skills
