Job description
We have an excellent opportunity for a talented Desktop Engineer to join our IT team based in Ashby De Le Zouch or Spennymoor. The Desktop Engineer will provide 1st and 2nd line IT support for Sharpsmart end users to ensure optimal workstation performance. Key focus in the role will be installing, diagnosing, maintaining and upgrading all hardware and equipment, including (but not limited to) PCs, terminals, mobile devices, printers and scanners.
Your role will involve: - Desktop, Laptop, Mobile, etc Equipment Procurement and Inventory management
- Mobile Device Management / Support
- WEE Compliant Equipment Disposal
- ERP Systems Support
- O365 Administration Exchange
- CCTV Systems Management / Support
- Effective management of IT support desk user tickets
- Regular visits to Sharpsmart processing plants to provide a high quality and timely response to a range of critical and routine hardware, network, and operating system fix requests in a confident and professional manner
- Provide technical support to end-user clients (in person or remotely)
- Triage Incident and Support requests and escalate to the appropriate 3rd party .-support function and oversee the resolution keeping internal staff updated
- Working with the Global IT team to ensure common security and other standards are maintained
- User account management in AD and other systems
- Compliance with GDPR standards and other internal IT policies
- Onboarding / Offboarding Users
Candidate Profile - Relevant qualification in IT/Computer Studies.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role preferably with a or similar.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, firewalls, security, web filtering, and proxies.
- Experience of core Microsoft + Apple desktop operating systems .
- Mobile device management & OS - Windows, Android, IOS.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users.
- Efficient time management and organisation skills
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Driving license and willing to travel
