Job description
Responsibility to ensure all nursing care is carried out as determined by the care plans. Responsibility to ensure care plans are regularly updated reflecting evidence based practice. Responsibility to provide accurate information to patients and relatives regarding treatment and side effects. Responsibility to ensure that all patient information is collected and recorded accurately and timely during a span of duty. Responsibility to provide accurate reports both verbally and electronically. Responsibility to ensure compliance with agreed nursing policies, procedures and protocols within the ward. Responsibility for the safe custody and administration of drugs and blood products according to CCC policy. Responsibility to administer systemic anti-cancer treatments (SACT). Responsibility to ensure that all radiation guidelines are adhered to. Responsibility to ensure that agreed SACTs policies and guidelines are adhered to. Responsible for safely assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care. The safe administration of treatments to patients who require outpatient SACT and supportive therapies To work autonomously and seek collaborative relationships with others across and within professional boundaries. The post holder will supervise junior staff and participate in the teaching and assessing of pre and post registration students Leadership & Management This post holder will provide clinical leadership to support the delivery of evidence based patient centred care Act as a role model demonstrating high standards of care and providing clinical leadership to others They will take responsibility for the Quality Management of their designated areas with a specific emphasis on Infection Control, Leading a Nurse Led Service and Patient Safety. Manage local resolution of patient concerns and complaints Escalate risk/issues and effectively action to minimise future risks
