1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Boston, Lincolnshire
Start Date: After Easter Half Term
Salary: £80 - £90 per day
GSL Education is working with Primary Schools all around Lincolnshire and is currently looking to appoint 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work in full time basis with primary and secondary aged children. The position is in Boston, and the selected candidate will start working immediately after Easter Half term.
As the ideal candidate you should
- Be aware of PECs and Makaton; previous experience of using both would be ideal.
- Be aware of the Primary/Secondary National Curriculum or both.
- Have experience supporting children or young people with a range of additional needs.
- Be charismatic, pro-active and can use your own initiative.
- Have an enhanced child only DBS on the Update Service or be willing to make one.
- Have training in Autism, Learning Difficulties, Behaviour, Team Teach or Moving and Handling would be a plus; If you don’t have these experiences, no worries, you still can apply.
Within the job role you will: - Work on a 1:1 basis with children with a range of complex and additional needs.
- Support the delivery of the lessons by the class teacher and work with small groups of pupils to deliver educational-based activities.
- Assistance with extracurricular activities that enhance motor and speech abilities, such as swimming lessons, outdoor fitness, sensory rooms, hydrotherapy, arts & crafts, and cooking.
- Assist with any personal care needs that may be required.
