Job description

Undertaking delivery duties in accordance with the procurement standards; ensuring goods are delivered according to schedules. Maintaining and using adequate manual handling tools, materials and consumables in order for delivery duties to be carried out. To carry out other duties which may reasonably be required by the Supervisor or Logistics Development Manager. Undertaking daily, weekly; monthly and annual routines to ensure all areas of responsibility are maintained to high standard. Providing a high quality standard of service throughout the area of responsibility to reduce loss or damage of goods and related risks to patients and visitors. To work to agreed planned duty timetable relevant to the ward / department so as to maintain the flow of consumables which have been order by top up team and to ensure items ordered by the wards or department arrive at their destination in tack. To ensure all internal transfer notes are returned and placed ready for filing in order number to ensure audit process is followed. To help ward staff in the acceptance of goods on delivery, ensuring goods are delivered to an agreed location and are not left in any way obstruction safe movement in and out of the wards or area of delivery. To pick and process orders from a central location such as bulk stores and delivery as necessary. Reporting to the Supervisor for work priorities and the Deputy Logistics Manager for support and guidance as and when required. To work as part of a team in the delivery of the service, ensuring all materials and equipment are used in a cost effective manner. To follow local procedures, ensuring that the correct equipment is used. To adhere to , and comply with Health and Safety and COSHH (control of substances hazardous to health) regulations. To report maintenance defects within the department to Supervisor of estates Dept obtaining a job number where necessary. To maintain an overall awareness of the department including health and safety, and aspects within security and fire procedures. To undertake any training programmes as required within the role including Information Governance and all mandatory training. The post holder will be expected to work in other areas of the service for familiarisation purposes in order to provide cover for other front line distribution staff within the Procurement shared services Department this may include other sites as we are based at 5 sites including North Middlesex Hospital, Whittington Hospital, Royal Free Hospital, Moorfields Eye Hospital, Barnet Hospital and Chase Farm Hospital. Responsible for complying with all local policies and procedures. To undertake any extra duties as directed by the Supervisor and the logistics development manager or the director of procurement shared services. and in agreement with the post holder. Technical Knowledge & Skills Performs cleaning duties to keep working areas in a clean and orderly condition. Operates and maintains basic equipment in the performance of housekeeping duties. Literacy skills can read signage, labels, policies and instructions and can document and record hazards and other information as required. Follows instructions and takes directions. Undertakes the 7 steps Cleaning methodology when cleaning in all clinical areas. Works with a sense of urgency and demonstrates a can-do attitude. Effectively manages time to ensure all duties are completed within allocated period. Ability to work methodically, individually and in a team environment Health & Safety Compliance Recognises and complies with safety & infection control instructions, rules, policies, and procedures. Follows appropriate directions to properly mix cleaning chemicals or handle other materials. Understands appropriate action to correct hazards. Reports unsafe conditions, injuries, illnesses, practices or safety concerns to immediate supervisor r lead person when needed. Customer Service Listens and responds to customer needs promptly and respectfully. Works in a way that is customer and patient focused. Provides friendly service in an approachable manner. Interpersonal Skills Communicates with fellow workers and Team Leaders in a confident manner that allows work to be completed.
