CNC Setter Operator – Job Summary:
We’re currently supporting our client who are specialists in global manufacturing of products for every-day applications. They are looking for a CNC Setter Operator to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to develop their skills and to become an expert in the company’s products. You will learn CNC programming (with machine controls and offline applications) and EDM machining for the more complex jobs. The role also comes with a range of benefits.
Salary: £34,000 – £36,000

Responsibilities for CNC Setter Operator:
You will be trained in the following:
- Setting and operating various CNC milling, turning, and EDM sink and wire machines.
- Self-inspection of components using manual measuring equipment
- Editing and altering programs according to requirements.
- Generate CNC programs utilising both machine controls and CAD/CAM software (including SolidCAM and PowerMill).
- Ensure a good working knowledge and understanding of machine tooling and proper usage.
- TPM of injection mold tools ranging from 28-180KG.
- Analyse and identify any issues/improvements with existing tooling, manufacture, and fit replacement tooling, discuss further actions with the manufacturing teams.
- Ensure reporting requirements are adhered to and that accurate data is available in a timely manner.
- Working alongside the production and QC teams for all new/existing product development and customer requirements, including Kaizen activities.
- Quality control of work by appropriate reviews
- Any other duties as required, in accordance with the needs of the business.
About You:
- CNC setting and operating.
- Editing programs (ideally Heidenhain or HAAS, but other controls considered)
- Changing/setting offsets, datums, feeds
- Experience within the injection moulding sector desirable but not essential.
- Competent in reading technical engineering drawings.
- Good knowledge of conventional machining and high precision bench fitting practices
- Able to work accurately to deadlines.
- Perform complex precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
- Attention to detail.
- Problem Solving.
- Able to achieve results by setting high standards and committing to clear objectives.
- Adaptable to change and varying situations.
- Ability to show resilience and a flexible approach.
- Good communication skills.
- Positively receiving feedback.
- Computer literate.
- Ideally apprentice trained (not essential)
