As a Learning Support Advisor/Mentor you will support a young adult with additional support needs, arrange support interventions and monitor impact and outcomes to help ensure their success. You will work in partnership to develop and deliver inclusive services to our students with a disability or additional support need. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a student where you can make a real difference to their future This is a 4 day role, working Monday to Thursday within our lovely Beauty Therapy college.

Role Information
This position is fixed term until the end of July 2024. Your working hours are Monday (9:30am - 4pm), Tuesday (11am - 4pm), Wednesday (9:30am - 12:30pm) and Thursday (9:30am - 2:30pm) working a total of 19 hours per week.
Duties:-
- To provide learning support in a 1:1 situation and/or small group.
- To organise and maintain an inclusive learning environment across the whole college environment.
- Facilitate inclusion in small group activities with peers and support interaction between them.
- To work as part of the team to ensure that the well being and personal development of the pupil enhances their learning opportunities and life skills.
- Complete Learning Support Plans and undertake monthly reviews with the learner
- Work inline with SEN Legislation and discuss progress with the SENCO
- to conduct an assessment of a student’s additional support needs and make recommendations of reasonable adjustments where required
- Liaising with external agencies and previous learning providers, support services and educational settings, to request information
- Ensuring evidence complies with the rules and regulations of awarding bodies, examination and funding authorities.
- Making well-informed recommendations of study aids, assistive technology and support strategies relevant to a student’s course of study
- Support and have experience in compliance with equalities legislation (Equality Act 2010),
- Conduct your role in line with the company values and expected behaviours

- Comply with the Safeguarding, Prevent and Health and Safety Policies and be vigilant to potential concerns and risks at all times
- Ensure confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Provide learners, customers and colleagues with support, advice guidance as part of your everyday role
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA We love to develop our people so even if you don't meet 100% of the essential criteria, we strongly encourage you to apply.
- Experience in supporting learners with special educational needs, including EHCP's
- Experience working with Post 16 learners
- Must have a minimum of Level 3 qualification in special educational needs
- Must have a minimum of 2 years experience working alongside adults with additional learning needs.
