Are you an experienced, well-rounded finance professional looking to take the next step in your career? This highly unique non-for-profit organisation is currently seeking a Head of Finance to join their high performing team on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Director of Finance and as a member of the wider senior management team, this role will play a key part in driving forward organisation development across multiple-disciplines, whilst also having rare exposure to Board level meetings – it is really a CV-enhancing opportunity!

The key duties of this Head of Finance role are as follows:

• Provide leadership and guidance to a wider team of eight, offering opportunities for upskilling and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of all cyclical financial activity.
• Have critical input into the development of the medium-term financial plan, working closely with the Director of Finance.
• Attend wider SMT meetings, contributing towards and driving forward new strategic initiatives across the whole organisation and its subsidiaries.
• Hold accountability for the day-to-day running of the external audit and do a top level review of the statutory accounts.
• Full responsibility for the delivery of the annual budget, ensuring all assumptions are challenges to make it as robust as possible.
• Be the key finance member of the board for one of the organisation’s key subsidiaries.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement and be the finance subject matter expert in the development of funding bids.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a well-rounded senior finance professional who is looking to take the next step in their career and gain exposure to working with and presenting to senior audiences, across a wider array of disciplines beyond finance. Please note that this role will officially be based out of the organisation’s offices in South Leicester, but opportunities to work from home will be on offer for up to three days per week.

The successful candidate will have:

• A full accountancy qualification.
• Ideally, a background working in the charity or public sector, but this is by no means essential.
• Experience working across the full remit of finance in a senior capacity, including management accounting, audit and budget setting.
• Experience managing and developing a team.
• Confidence to deliver financial information to senior, non-financial stakeholders.
