Commercial Property Claims Handler - NIG

Gloucester - Hybrid (2 days a week in the office)

Full Time, Permanent Position

This role is in scope to transfer to RSA in Summer 2024. As part of this, RSA are currently consulting with DLG’s Employment Representative Body on their proposed measures (changes to terms and conditions and ways of working that RSA intend to make as part of the transfer). Further information will be discussed in the application process.

What you'll be doing

Reporting directly to the Commercial Claims Team Leader, you'll be integral in guaranteeing that our Commercial clients receive fair and efficient claims handling. Your duties will encompass validating, investigating, negotiating, and fulfilling Commercial Property Claims within a specified handling authority limit. With complete ownership and accountability for each claim, you'll manage the entire claims process, including investigating, negotiating indemnity and liability, and identifying recovery opportunities. You'll also oversee indemnity spend and reserving, manage customer and third-party expectations, maximise revenue generation and recovery opportunities, and adhere to regulatory guidelines. Additionally, you'll serve as a technical mentor, ensure adherence to customer fairness principles, and strive to achieve all business targets outlined within departmental measures.

This role will deal predominantly with Agricultural claims, but will include some residential cases as well.
