Job description

Axcis Education is looking for an Education Support Mentor to work on a 1:1 basis with children who have complex needs and struggle to engage with a mainstream learning environment. The role is to provide high quality 1:1 sessions, delivering Mathematics and English at a basic level. There will also be opportunities to develop the children's skills and interests in subjects they have a passion for.

The children (aged 4-16) are based across Torbay. You will be mentoring 2 sessions a day, 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. Working on a 1-1 basis at a time. Having access to your own vehicle is a necessity for this role, you will be traveling with the child and mentoring in the community. You will be flexible with travel arrangements, ensuring you can arrive to the morning session before 9am and the afternoon session before 1pm. Each session lasts 2-3 hours, depending on the child and the targets they are working on.

You must be willing to upgrade your car insurance to business insurance as you will be travelling with children at times. You will also be confident in writing reports to summarise the child's progress in each session.
