Job description
About the Employer
My teenage son has Autism, learning disabilities and is non-verbal.
He enjoys going for walks and watching the ducks at the park, being pushed on the swings, swimming, soft play centres, trampolining, watching Peppa pig and going on his I pad. He has sensory needs, certain noises he doesn’t like and textures of some clothing he dislikes. He is friendly and enjoys cuddles with immediate family, he will give you a high five to say hello and goodbye.
He can get cross at times when he doesn’t get what he wants or if plans change suddenly but with good positive actions put in place, this is quickly resolved, it may result in him screaming or hitting himself and on occasions he will hit out but not often.
He enjoys going out on car journeys, looking out the window and listening to music, he sometimes gets a little cross when stuck in traffic and needs reassuring of where he is going, we find pictures work well with our son. My son has some hygiene needs when using the toilet. He has a limited diet but enjoys snacking on his favourite foods.
