Job Title: Principal CFD Engineer - Submarines Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Bristol, Portsmouth, and Frimley. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role Salary: Competitive What you'll be doing: Conducting computational fluid dynamic analysis and evaluation of submarine platforms from concept design to in-service supportYou will be developing in-house modelling capability, processes and toolsets for use on our High-Performance Computing platformWorking collaboratively with systems teams, naval architects, manoeuvring, control, and propulsion engineers as well as customers and suppliers to deliver innovative submarine solutionValidating CFD predictions of submarine performance to alternative mathematical/computational methods and physical model testing Your skills and experiences: Essential: In-depth knowledge and a proven experience with CFD modelling in software packages such as Star-CCM+, Ansys Fluent/CFX or Open FOAMA strong understanding of fluid dynamic principles and methodsDegree qualified in STEM discipline or related field Desirable: Hydrodynamic/aerodynamic design and evaluation experiencePhysical testing experience Benefits: You'll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. The CFD Team: As a part of CFD team, you will be working alongside a team of experts within the hydrodynamics team. You will be carrying out modelling, analysis and evaluating activities specifically related to CFD, whilst interfacing with project teams to work through issues and present potential solutions.
