Job description
The post holder will be a highly experienced radiographer, able to work autonomously within their specialist area, and accountable for their own professional actions. They will assess and manage their caseload, giving advice and guidance to patients and other health care professionals. The post holder will assist in the timely, efficient, and cost-effective management and operation of the specialist imaging section. They will ensure provision of the highest standards of patient care, and contribute to the management of the Department. This person will be working closely within a multidisciplinary team, deputising for the Superintendent Radiographer in their absence. The post holder will deliver a high standard of Neuroradiographic practice, providing training, supervision, and day-to-day operational management of the unit. Key responsibilities Provide a clinical lead for all MRI examinations within the service area Demonstrate appropriate operational and human resources management skills in delivery of the service Support the Superintendent Radiographer in the operational management and supervision of the department. To be responsible for data quality within the service area, ensuring that statutory and Trust requirements for record keeping is adhered to Ensure development of, compliance with, and regular review of, Health and Safety policies and procedures within the specialist area, including MRI safety policies, to provide a safe and secure environment Demonstrate, maintain, and update specialist skills and knowledge of current MRI practice Act as a role model and clinical expert to facilitate the development of others through education and example Work with others in the development of research MRI protocols. Person specification Knowledge Essential criteria Relevant post-graduate qualification, or proven relevant experience at Senior level Modality Lead in CT or MRI Good oral and written communication skills Able to present information effectively Flexible attitude to working Desirable criteria Publication(s) within clinical area Able to produce effective written reports Knowledge of data analysis and statistics Familiarity with management reporting systems, i.e. Healthroster Experience Essential criteria Recent practice in neuroradiography at Senior level Experience of supervising staff Able to lead a multi-disciplinary team. Teaching experience with radiographers and members of other professions Desirable criteria Research experience Experience with clinical audit Skills Essential criteria Able to undertake manual handling tasks IV Cannulation certificate Able to work to deadlines Effective communicator
