Job description
What you will do in your working day
- Booking in dogs
- Keeping the salon clean to a high standard
- Taking and and handing out dogs
- Help and assist the students by answering questions
- Making sure they are working safely, holding dogs & getting equipment etc, bathing , drying and styling any extra dogs that are in that day, doing introductions for new students and then making sure the salon is clean ready for the next day
- Showing new students the ropes
The training you will be getting
- You will complete the Level 2 Dog Groomer Apprenticeship Standard with Northern Education and Training
- You will learn how to work safely, bath and dry and prep a variety of coat types, learn how to clip in a basic style
- Training will be on going as we get in extra dogs for you to learn on
- You will also learn how to help and assist students and start to teach new students
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
- You would then have the added benefit of having worked in a salon and gained experience
- You could go on to do our level 3 diploma in dog grooming or enter a job as an assistant stylist in order to prep dogs confidently or go on to learn more
- We might also have teaching opportunities at the end
