Overview
Bruker’s Semiconductor Division is the leader in automated atomic force microscopy (AAFM) and advanced X-ray metrology and defect inspection tools for the silicon and compound semiconductor industries. The division offers the most comprehensive portfolio tools, based on X-ray technologies including XRR (X-ray reflectometry), XRF (X-ray fluorescence), XRD (X-ray diffraction), XRDI (X-ray diffraction imaging) and others. The X-ray business unit is based in Migdal Ha’Emek, Israel with facilities in Durham UK, Karlsruhe, Germany and support offices and sales representatives worldwide.
Responsibilities
We have an immediate opening for a talented Engineering Team Manager for our X-Ray products in our R&D department. The candidate will be responsible for:
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support in their career development.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture that encourages open communication, knowledge sharing, and innovation.
- Engineering Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Allocate resources effectively, balancing workloads and skill sets within the team.
- Technical Guidance:
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members, assisting in problem-solving and decision-making related to complex technical challenges.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the team is using the best tools and practices.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Collaborate with product managers, other engineering teams, and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment of project goals and priorities.
- Performance Management:
- Set clear performance expectations for team members and provide regular feedback through performance evaluations, one-on-one meetings, and constructive coaching.
- Address any performance issues promptly and create improvement plans when necessary.
- Career Development:
- Identify opportunities for skill enhancement and professional growth for each team member, supporting them in achieving their career goals.
- Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Participate in the hiring process by identifying engineering talent, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions.
- Facilitate the onboarding process to help new team members integrate smoothly into the team and company culture.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that the team adheres to coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes to deliver reliable and high-quality products.
- Conflict Resolution:
- Address conflicts and challenges within the team, promoting a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Strategic Planning:
- Contribute to the development of the engineering team's long-term strategy and objectives in alignment with the company's vision.
Qualifications
- Experience-
- At least 5 years as a engineering team lead or technical project manager in capital equipment development industry (Semiconductors, Medical, Large printers etc.)
- Must be a self-starter able to work independently as well as part of a small team on challenging problems.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills in English
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- s.C, M.S. or PhD in engineering (electronics, mechanics, software) or Physics
