Housing Officer (SO2)

Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Housing Officer to join our team. As a Housing Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of our housing resources. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the allocation of housing units, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies, and providing support and guidance to tenants. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for providing quality housing services.

Responsibilities
Manage the allocation and letting of housing units, ensuring a fair and transparent process -
Conduct inspections of vacant properties to assess their condition and coordinate any necessary repairs or maintenance -
Maintain accurate records of all tenancies, including lease agreements, rent payments, and repair requests -
Respond to tenant queries and concerns promptly and professionally, providing support and guidance as needed -
Collaborate with other departments and external agencies to address issues of housing affordability and accessibility -
Monitor and enforce compliance with housing regulations, policies, and standards -
Conduct regular assessments of tenants' eligibility and entitlement to housing benefits
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as housing management or social services -
Proven experience working in a similar role, preferably in a social housing setting -
Knowledge of relevant housing legislation, policies, and procedures -
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with tenants and external stakeholders -
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively -
Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records -
Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure, and effectively resolve conflicts or disputes -
Proficiency in using computer software and databases for data management and reporting.

Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:15
Pay Per Hour: £17.27
