Job description
ARC is recruiting for Vehicle Technician (Electrical Biased) - Vehicle Delivery Team for 4 months work.
Team: Operations Team
Rate: £24 ph
Working Hours/Pattern: 5 days a week Mon/Friday 8 -16:30 + overtime if required & some weekends
Reports to: Lead Technician
Main Purpose of Job:
The main purpose of this job is to assist with the build of buses, and other vehicles, to required build and quality standards. Assist Lead Technicians as required to complete vehicle deliveries on time and on budget to the correct standard.
Maintaining a safe working environment is critical to this role together with adherence to internal Health & Safety control measures and wearing of required PPE.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work independently to fit power train to vehicles.
- Understand build and inspection process, and identify issues in prototype assembly.
- Work independently to Build and route both HV and LV cable as required to standards.
- Work independently to route cooling circuit.
- Work independently to assemble HVAC circuit.
- Identify areas of improvement to Lead Technician.
- Problem solve any issues and report to Lead Technician.
- Fabricate brackets where required for hose and cable routing.
- Train other members of the team in wiring techniques to promote succession planning.
Key Skills and Relevant Experience
- Operate tooling or other machines to modify parts or to fabricate experimental parts for testing purposes.
- Highly motivated and conscientious.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, as part of a team or on your own.
- Knowledge of a range of hand / power tools for example: Insulation resistance testing devices, OHM meters, crimp and termination tooling, heat guns, digital measuring tools, torque wrenches, etc.
- Ability to work to a high level of accuracy with good attention to detail.
- Proficient with MS office suite of applications specifically: Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams & SharePoint.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Electrical builds and or maintenance on a variety of platforms from factory machinery, road vehicles & aircraft.
- Understanding of Health & Safety and PPE.
Desirable Qualities
- IMI accreditation/vehicle maintenance qualification.
- IMI award in electric/hybrid vehicle awareness.
- First aid trained.
- Fire Warden.
- Hold a valid UK drivers Licence
