Job description
Axcis are currently recruiting for a teaching assistant to work in a class in a specialist school in the Handforth area.
The role is working with children and young people aged 7 - 18 years old in a specialist provision. The hybrid role will consist of 1:1 and group work within small classes of 7-9 pupils with a SEN teacher and experienced team of TAs. Working hours are Monday - Friday, 08:30-15:30, term time only. Pay rates are £88-92 dependent on experience. The school is highly regarded for their dedication to providing individual care, helping their students to reach their potential. The setting is based in the Handforth area and boast popular transport links and on site parking. Recently rated 'good' by Ofsted, the state of the art facilities and commitment of the staff team, makes this school a sort after place to work. As the students are non verbal, candidates with Makaton and PECS experience would be an advantage. Candidates would also need to attend to some personal care with the pupils. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 years working with SEN, which can be referenced. You must have a child and adult DBS registered on the update service as well as an overseas police check if you have been out of the UK for more than 6months within the last 5 years.
