Location: York, North Yorkshire
Salary Scale: £76 - £96 per day
Start Date: ASAP/Easter
GSL Education North Yorkshire is currently looking for a Primary Teaching Assistant for an Alternative Provision located in York, North Yorkshire , starting as soon as possible.

Primary Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will collaborate with the class teachers, the SENCO, and outside organizations to promote exceptional educational delivery.
- The key to the job role will be developing relationships with young people and fostering an inclusive atmosphere for them.
- Working directly with the class teachers to help students reach their maximum potential by providing support, motivation, and encouragement.
- Create and maintain SEND friendly classrooms and teaching areas.
- Offer assistance to children and young people within and outside of the classroom.
- Assist in leading group activities, supervising group projects, or helping to facilitate group discussions.
- During group activities, ensure that students stay on task, collaborate effectively, and resolve conflicts if they arise.
Primary Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Have prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant or as an Education Practitioner with Primary aged students.
- Be confident in managing behaviour within a school setting, using de-escalation techniques where appropriate.
- Be aware of and knowledgeable about different additional needs such as ASC, ADHD, MLD and SEMH.
- Be able to quickly establish positive relationships.
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one with GSL Education. DBS sponsorship is available for this position .
