I experience anxiety so require some gentle encouragement and support to be more active outside of the home. I also have Osteoporosis. Although I’m not what you’d call ‘people person’, I make up for it by being sensitive, funny, empathetic, caring, kind, gentle and organised. I have a dry sense of humour and am very much an introvert. I enjoy singing, music and quizzing. I’m not keen on busy and loud places or big groups of people. So if I do go out, quiet and mentally stimulating activities would be best. For example, I enjoy playing Bowls in the summer and participating in local quizzes. PURPOSE OF JOB To encourage me to spend time outside the home, participate in the community and hopefully form new friendships and interests. HOURS OF WORK 2.5 hours per week. On occasion my husband works away so there will be extra hours available. Days of support will be either a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon. RATES OF PAY £13.00 per hour TASKS INVOLVED · Social and community based outings · Encouraging and motivating me to be involved in activities outside the home · Shopping during quieter times of the day TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED · Someone who has a gentle nature and soft approach to interaction · You must be friendly, supportive and willing to build a friendship with me · A confident person who will be proactive in suggesting activities · You must respect the confidentiality of working in the home · A car driver/owner to use your car for work purposes ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the Local Authority.
