Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Wheatley, Oxfordshire
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Rates of Pay: £90 to £100 per day (paid on a weekly basis)
Monarch Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Mentor to join our team at a special school in Wheatley. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for students with special educational needs. This is a full-time position, and we are looking for a passionate individual who is committed to making a difference in the lives of students.
Responsibilities:
Behavioural Support: Provide targeted support to students with challenging behaviours, helping them develop appropriate coping strategies and social skills.
Individualised Plans: Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement individualised behaviour plans for students, tailoring strategies to meet their unique needs.
Mentoring: Establish positive and trusting relationships with students, acting as a mentor and role model to encourage positive behaviour and academic success.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a collaborative and cohesive approach to behavioural support.
Monitoring and Reporting: Track and document student progress, providing regular updates to the school leadership team, parents, and relevant stakeholders.
Crisis Intervention: Be prepared to handle crisis situations and provide appropriate support to students in times of distress.
Requirements:
Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a special educational needs (SEN) setting.
Qualifications: A relevant qualification in behaviour management, education, or a related field is highly desirable.
Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with students, staff, parents, and external professionals.
Patience and Empathy: A patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to understand and respond to the individual needs of students.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.
Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in responding to the dynamic needs of the students and the school environment.
