We are seeking a dedicated
SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL in
Chesterfield , starting immediately.
Key Responsibilities :
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Support: Providing one-to-one or small group support to the school students with SEMH needs.
- Communication: Assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
- Leadership: Collaborating with classroom teachers to adapt and differentiate lessons to accommodate the needs of students with SEMH challenges.
- Monitor: Creating a safe and supportive classroom environment where students can thrive academically and emotionally.
Requirements :
To excel in SEMH Teaching Assistant role, you should have:
- Be proactive, energetic, kind and caring
- Proven experience working with school students with SEMH needs or a real desire to enter this section of education
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with us)
- A full work history
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy and patience when working with students facing SEMH challenges.
- A commitment to helping these students achieve their full potential.
