Role: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Chesterfield
Salary Scale: £86 to £100 per day
Start Date: ASAP


Join Our Team as an SEMH Teaching Assistant in Chesterfield! 

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with  Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?Do you have a desire to make a positive impact on the educational journey of school students facing SEMH challenges?
We are seeking a dedicated  SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL in Chesterfield , starting immediately.


 
Key Responsibilities :
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
  1. Support: Providing one-to-one or small group support to the school students with SEMH needs.
  2. Communication: Assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
  3. Leadership: Collaborating with classroom teachers to adapt and differentiate lessons to accommodate the needs of students with SEMH challenges.
  4. Monitor:  Creating a safe and supportive classroom environment where students can thrive academically and emotionally.
 
Requirements :
To excel in SEMH Teaching Assistant role, you should have:
  • Be proactive, energetic, kind and caring
  • Proven experience working with school students with  SEMH needs or a real desire to enter this section of education
  • An  enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with us)
  • A full work history
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy and patience when working with students facing SEMH challenges.
  • A commitment to helping these students achieve their full potential.
