The salary for this permanent General Radiology Superintendent Radiographer job is £50,952 - £57,349per annum.
Duties:
- Provide senior management support to the General Radiology team, operationally managing the day-to-day business
- Lead in the implementation of the care group strategy within the service, including service planning, team evaluation and skills mix review, staffing levels assessment and role redesign, demonstrating an awareness of service improvement methods and evaluation
- Ensure effective and efficient use of allocated resources to provide a service organised around the needs of patients, carers and business
- Provide strong and effective leadership to develop clinical services in the areas of designated responsibility
- Take responsibility for appropriate policy development, including impact evaluation within the service, including care group targets and KPIs
- Undertake appropriate research, audit and service review in order to implement effective, evidence-based service delivery
- Undertake appropriate compliant/SI investigations and provide informed responses to any relevant complaints within established Procedures
- Implement and monitor service review bases on issues identified through complaint investigations and action plans
- Contribute to appropriate clinical and management networks, locally, regionally or at national level
Requirements of the General Radiology Superintendent Radiographer:
- Be open, honest and follow the spirit of the duty of candour at all times
- Have the skills for assessing a range of complex acute and other patient conditions and tailor diagnostic/treatment protocols to take these into account e.g. trauma, calculation of treatment doses
- Demonstrate efficient and effective use of resources and will ensure prompt remedial action where require in order to minimise variation from financial targets
- Understand duty to adhere to policies and protocols applicable to infection prevention and control
- Diploma of College of Radiographers or BSc equivalent
- State Registration with the Health Profession Council
- Previous NHS experience
- Post qualification experience
- Evidence of multidisciplinary team working
- Experience in Emergency Department imaging
- Experience in student supervision
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Evidence of accredited advanced / validated post graduate education relevant to management responsibilities and / or clinical care / evidence-based practice (eg. MSc modules)
- Previous experience of working at senior management level
- Understanding of corporate needs with regard to decision making and service developments
