Job description
Managing the Breakdown and Recovery Team for your area and supporting with other locations when needed.
Act as the Recovery Area Manager at major derailments nationally
Organise training with the Training & Compliance Manager.
Provide guidance and support with solutions for Breakdown & Recovery projects.
Conduct meetings with you teams to develop and action KPI’S
Accountable for all health and safety, COSHH, risk assessments, SSOW & permits.
To manage annual leave and sickness for all staff.
Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with all functions across the business.
Ensure CCMS is kept up to date.
Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance is met at all Breakdown and Recovery locations.
Ensure that all staff always have the necessary support to remain compliant.
Ensure training exercises are carried out and adheres to all necessary standards and legislation.
Remain competent in all Breakdown and Recovery roles.
Any other tasks within competence and deemed necessary by the post holder’s line manager.
This position is 42 hours per week.
The Breakdown and Recovery (Rail Recovery) Area Manager will be required to be on an on-call roster one week in three but when trained one week in five.
You will have a strong desire to learn and develop professionally, using open thinking and have the ability to adapt to new ways of working.
Involvement and experience of project management with the ability to organise and plan to set deadlines.
Experience and knowledge of recovery on the rail network is essential for this position
You will have strong communication skills and feel comfortable and confident working both alone, and in a team.
You must possess a positive working attitude
A full UK driving licence is required for this position.
Completion of a CMI course is desirable.
