Job description
Calderdale Childrens Services is recruiting an exceptional educational leader, who will raise children’s ambition, attainment and resilience.
Calderdale is looking for a special individual who will be ambitious to give children the best start in life. This role, which reports directly to the Director of Children and Young People’s Services, will lead the Council’s response to improve all children’s school readiness, attainment and inclusion. You will be required to liaise with and influence the DfE, OFSTED, Headteachers and School Governors to ensure positive progress. This role will brief elected members on the progress made by schools and early years pupils across the borough and provide a regular overview of the prospects for Calderdale students.
You will join a talented senior team, leading a highly capable group of colleagues determined to do the best for Calderdale’s children. You will undertake your leadership role in a stable political environment, with political support and aspiration for our borough to help every child ‘live a larger life’.
Calderdale children’s services are rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted , and our work with children in care and leaving care rated as ‘Outstanding’ . The inspection of SEND services was ‘ Good’ in 2019 and we are rated as one of the best performing councils for high needs by IMPOWER. The Council’s commitment to our Vision 2024 demonstrates how the Council is innovative, distinctive, focused on learning and treating our students and staff with kindness and respect.
Applications are encouraged from those who hold a recognised teaching\lecturing qualification, an advanced management qualification and can demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of Education legislation and statutory guidance relating to college and school organisation and early years achievement requirements.
