Senior Supervisor - Fair Haven, Bournemouth

Christadelphian Care Homes exists mainly, although not exclusively, to care for members of the Christadelphian Faith. We operate a number of Care Homes and Sheltered Housing schemes throughout the UK and are able to deliver care tailored to individual needs from low support through to residential, nursing and specialised care, including dementia. We aim to enable our residents to lead fulfilling spiritual lives and participate in regular activities, individually tailored to residents' wishes.

Over the course of this year there is a planned refurbishment of the communal areas at Fair Haven, which will enhance our home and give new opportunities for improving residents wellbeing. We are seeking an experienced, organised and adaptable person to develop and lead a team of senior carers to provide a consistently high level of relationship centred care in our home, whilst maintaining our strong sense of family.

You will support and lead our team on all levels, including organisation, demonstration and instruction of care activities and systems and be responsible for the induction of new staff including the enhancement of the resident’s quality of life by the whole team. You will work with the administrator to manage the rota, ensuring senior care and care support is available at all times which will include being on senior shifts as necessary. Additionally, providing valuable support to the Management concerning the medication systems and for the ordering and distribution of prescribed medication to residents by leading on compliance.

Additionally, you will:

Ensure the environment is maintained to a high standard including shared areas, by liaising with relevant colleagues to ensure decoration is carried out as rooms become vacant and that the whole environment is checked regularly to achieve the desired standards.
Have responsibility for coordinating documentation of individual strength based care plans and undertaking audits to help report back to the Management and lead compliance.
Organise and manage regular team meetings to ensure information is cascaded to the team.
Build and manage relationships internally across the whole team and externally with families and health care professionals etc, ensuring all parties are communicated to effectively.
To be successful in this role it’s essential that you hold a minimum of a Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification (or equivalent). Also required is the demonstration of extensive experience in a similar role, including successfully leading teams within a dementia setting (desirable dementia qualification).

Also you will be:

A highly organised, effective and efficient communicator at all levels within a diverse team.
Fully computer literate.
Compassionate and caring in nature.
Accountable for risk assessment, medication and care plan compliance.
Demonstrate an initiative that will bring forward ideas.
Manage complaints and concerns from multiple parties.
Be able to fulfil shifts and deliver care when needed.
