Job description

Full time: 7.00am to 13:00pm, Monday to Friday

6 hour day, 30 hours per week

We are looking for a candidate with good communication and computer skills to handle the office administration for a local food wholesale supplier, based in Southampton. As the office administrator you will be based at our Southampton warehouse and will report to the company general manager. Your role will be to take orders from customers and place orders with suppliers, organise and issue invoices using accounting software and support the warehouse assistants/drivers who will prepare orders. The candidate will be communicating with clients and suppliers on a daily basis via telephone, email and face to face.

Responsibilities:
Speaking with customers and suppliers to correctly place and record orders
Managing phone calls and emails

Receiving and checking orders from suppliers

Preparing orders for delivery
Purchasing and stock management
Invoicing using accounting software
Maintaining inventory
Keeping stock software up to date

Requirements:
Good people and communication skills
Cheerful personality
Good organisational skills
Fast learner, happy to familiarise themselves with new products, customers and suppliers
Computer literate with a good knowledge of working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, word, excel)
Comfortable working with accounting software (Sage)

Experience within the restaurant/hospitality industry will be considered a plus.
