This position will be focusing primarily on our Energy Systems line of business, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for supporting manufacturing by maintaining equipment on breakdowns and carrying out planned preventative maintenance as per schedules
- Strong Electrical background
- Problem solving and fault-finding expertise
- Experience in AC drives/inverters, DC drives/controllers electromechanical and optical sensors
- Some Knowledge of PLC’s power electronics/ electronics and electrical installation.
- Knowledge and experience of Fanuc robots would be advantageous.
- Conversant with safe systems of work lock out tag out systems,
- Knowledge of the Permit to work systems.
- Experience of using computer base maintenance systems.
- MEWP and harness trained by recognized organization would be an advantage.
- Compliance with Company Environmental, Health and Safety procedures
- Completion of Planned preventative maintenance tasks.
- Maintenance / repair of equipment in breakdown situations.
- Safe isolation of equipment.
- Ensure highest levels of housekeeping and cleanliness whilst working
- Liaise across all areas of the organization to achieve production priorities
- Issuing of work permits for site contractors and ensuring contractors are operating in accordance with site rules.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to do math.
- Ability to read and write
- Ability to use the computer, computer testing equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Technicial education in electrical, electronics, or mechanical technology.
- At least 5 years industrial experience as Electrician .
- Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times
- Must be able and willing to work varying schedules which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety.
- TThis position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions
