Hays has been retained to recruit a Financial Director role for a Software organisation that has a global presence. They provide commercial, financial, technical and procurement solutions to a global customer base of over 150 customers in 31 countries. They operate across multiple markets within their industry. It is a profitable business and their focus is on delivering its growth plans across the next few years. It is a very exciting time to get involved with this organisation as part of the board.
Your new role
The finance function is an integral part of the business, in enabling operations and driving financial strategies. The Finance Director will lead the finance team to ensure a “best in class” finance service. The Finance Director will provide strategic and financial guidance to deliver the business’ financial commitments and will ensure that all compliance responsibilities are met.
Main Duties:
The main duties will include (but are not limited to):
Contribute to the achievement of the company’s business objectives by providing strategic advice and guidance. Closely work alongside the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to:
• Direct and control the finance team to ensure they are appropriately motivated and developed to carry out their responsibilities, including people management of direct/indirect reports (establishing scorecards, KPI’s and monitoring and measuring progress).
• Review deliverables for PLC reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Oversee the business’ compliance and regulatory responsibilities in multiple jurisdictions, including local audit and tax compliance.
• Ensure effective accounting systems and processes are in place across the business in compliance with PLC governance responsibilities.
• Manage the business’ relationship with legal counsel, ensuring legal obligations are met.
• Proactively work on developing talent, to ensure up-to-date awareness of industry trends and changes.
• Produce and provide ad hoc finance related reports as required and carry out ad hoc projects.
• Travel to offices in other locations (international) to provide financial support or attend events, as required.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as required.
What you\'ll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant with post-qualification experience. You will have good business partnering experience at senior management level, strong technical accounting experience and strong people management abilities.
